House of Training / ATTF team members, Ben Lyon and Bernard van Dulmen Krumpelman were in Baku, Azerbaijan from the 3rd to 5th February 2026 to meet with representatives of our local partner, the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During their mission, they met with:
Mr Shahin Mahmudzade, CFA, Mr Tamerlan Aliyev, Mr Ulvi Gasimov, Ms Ilaha Bakhishova, Head, Ms Parvin Gahramanova, Senior Specialist, Financial Education and Professional Growth Division.
They also held discussions with representatives of the Azerbaijan Banks Association (ABA), the Bank & Finance Training Center (ABFTC), the Azerbaijan Micro-finance Association (AMFA), the ASA Training Center, the Azerbaijan Fintech Association (Azfina), and HR departments from several commercial banks, including; ABB, AzerTurk Bank, Bank of Baku, Rabitabank and Express Bank.
The topics discussed included:
Ethics in Banking and Finance, codes of conduct and the development of a seminar and workshop on this topic, in support of support local initiatives.
Ongoing initiatives to strengthen financial sector capacity including curricula design, certification programmes and continuous professional development pathways.
Understanding the ongoing professional development needs of Azerbaijan’s financial sector, their alignment with the ATTF’s programmes and the integration of partner feedback to gain the greatest impact through our combined actions.
