Reflecting on a Transformative Week

As we close the curtains on an exhilarating week of learning and networking, we at the House of Training/ATTF are thrilled to share the highlights from our "Digitalisation in Banking - Driving the Digital Transformation of Your Bank" seminar, held in Luxembourg from November 13 to 17, 2023. 

A Week Packed with Insights and Innovations   

Our journey began with an engaging welcome dinner at Mama Shelter with our participants coming from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cape Verde, Egypt, Ethiopia, Georgia, Kosovo, Moldova, North Macedonia, Rwanda, Serbia, Ukraine and Vietnam, setting the stage for a week of insightful discussions and knowledge sharing. The program kicked off with a comprehensive introduction to the Luxembourg financial center and fintech landscape, delivered by experts from Luxembourg for Finance (LfF) and Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT). 

Exploring the Facets of Digital Banking   

Key sessions covered a range of crucial topics: 

  • The evolution of digital banking and fintech collaborations, presented by industry leaders like Jean Diederich. 

  • An immersive Room#42 Cyberattack Simulation game, providing hands-on experience in cybersecurity Pascal Steichen. 

  • Insightful talks on global retail banking strategies, omni-channel banking, and customer experience by Christian Moreels from ING. 

  • A deep dive into emerging technologies like cloud computing, AI, machine learning and DLT & Blockchain expertly handled by speakers from Microsoft Sébastien Respaut and the University of Luxembourg Christophe Schommer and Proximus Frank Roessig. 

Navigating Cybersecurity and Regulatory Landscapes   

Our focus then shifted to the pivotal aspects of cybersecurity, GDPR, and the EU digital package regulations, with comprehensive sessions led by the CNPD Luxembourg Marc Lemmer and cybersecurity experts Jean-Hubert Antoine. The discussions on open banking, PSD2 Anne-Sophie Morvan, and the fireside chat on navigating regulatory challenges provided invaluable perspectives Cedric Mauny, Roger H. Hartmann, Philippe Noeltner. 

FinTech's Future and Innovation Challenge   

The seminar concluded with thought-provoking talks on the global view of FinTech and an exciting Finance Innovation Challenge workshop, where participants applied their learnings in real-world scenarios Anna Maj, Andy Bryant, Kamel Amroune, Habib Niamkey Kouamé, Louis Chevalier and Alicia Brun. 

A Memorable Conclusion   

The week wrapped up with a closing cocktail and certificate ceremony at L’Osteria, marking not just the end of an event, but the beginning of many digital transformation journeys in banking.
